I had a really bad virus this week on my favorite PC and I could not seem to clean it.  So now I'm at the point where I'm going to have to reinstall Windows XP. Now the problem is that even though all my copies of Windows XP are legit but I could not figure out which copy I had installed on it. 

Luckily I stumbled upon a handy little piece of software call Belarc Advisor and it will create a list of all the hardware and software installed on your system.

I wanted to post a screen shot but it also contains all the registration info for all the software I've got installed. So yes, I was able to get all my Windows CD Keys for all my Microsoft products and all the other companies like Adobe, Macromedia, etc.

I would recommend running the report every couple of months or at least once a year and file some place safe for the eventual crash since just don't know when disaster will strike.
